As a volunteer at Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center, you are a part of the mission and vision. SURHC is committed to providing services and events for the continual growth, education, and support of our volunteers throughout the year.

How do I begin?

To join the volunteer program at the Health Center, complete the application in this section of the website  or you can print it out and mail it back to us. It's also possible to receive information through email by emailing Michelle Gines, Volunteer Services Coordinator, at mgines@rodgershealth.org.

Before you start volunteering at your position you will need to:

• Fill out an application form online or print an application and return to our Downtown site or mail to:
  825 Euclid Ave., Kansas City, MO 64124
  Attn: Volunteer Services
  
• Reference Checks: Please provide Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center with 3 references on your application that you feel can speak to your abilities and integrity.
  
• Volunteer Interview
  
• Background Checks: We will do checks on all volunteers working with patients. You will need to provide social security number and date of birth.
  
• Orientation - Attendance at a half-day orientation, scheduled quarterly, is required before you can begin volunteering. Orientation will provide you with important information about Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center and prepare you for your service with us. This will also be a great way to meet fellow volunteers and become familiar with the diversity of volunteer services and programs within the Health Center.
