Below is a listing of volunteer opportunities at Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center:

Medical Student: Provides assessment, diagnostic, treatment, and follow-up decisions related to the health needs of patients under the supervision of a licensed physician.

Dental Student: Provides assessment, diagnostic, treatment, and follow-up decisions related to the dental needs of patients under the supervision of a licensed dentist.

Greeter/Registration Area Volunteer: Greets patients, assists with completing appropriate paperwork, files, charts, monitors patient flow, and directs patients to appropriate clinics.

Special Events Volunteer: Participates in the planning, preparing for, and conducting of a special event. Some are involved in monthly meetings to plan and coordinate the entire event. Others work the day of the event in setting up, registration, serving, monitoring, and/or clean up.

Administrative/ Clerical Volunteer: Collates media packets, prepares mailings, performs data entry, researches information, and assists with maintaining records.

Special Projects Volunteers: Volunteer groups are needed at times to provide special services such as brochure folding, sorting, copying, preparing mass mailings, etc. Individual volunteers may staff educational booths at health fairs.

Chart Sorter/Runner Position: Customer service volunteer that supports our Health Information Management team with retrieving patient charts from various clinics within the Health Center. Assembles, sorts and categorizes all medical records of patients to assure completeness and accuracy for entry into the system. Volunteer may also scan medical charts into the system.

Survey Processor Volunteer: Customer service volunteer that supports our Community Relations Department by collecting patient feedback via our surveys. Volunteer will place survey bins in each clinic along with surveys, then collect bins upon completion of survey period. Volutneer will scan surveys into an electronic system for tabulation and data.

Activity Room Volunteer: Customer service volunteer that supports our Women, Infant and Children program by managing toddlers while mother is receiving service. Manages the waiting room by providing activities for children (reading stories, crafts, etc.), keeping the DVD/television ready for children to watch, and keeping the waiting room kid-friendly, yet clutter free.

Peer Counselor Volunteer: Customer service volunteer that supports our Women, Infant and Children program by managing the waiting room during Breastfeeding Education classes. Manages the waiting room by providing activities for children (reading stories, crafts, etc.), keeping the DVD/television ready for children to watch, and keeping the waiting room kid-friendly, yet clutter free.

Clothes Closet Volunteer: Customer service volunteer that assists with donations "in and out" of the clothes closet. Volunteer will sort, handle and put away donations; accept requests from clinic patients for needed items and distribute items as needed.
