Alvin R. Smith obtained his doctorate degree at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio; he completed his undergraduate degree at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi, and his surgical residency at the Dallas Family Hospital, in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Smith sees patients at the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center Downtown Campus and remains in private practice. Dr. Smith is board qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons.
