“We are pleased that Drs. Colette Fleming and Sangeeta Jignesh Dalal have joined our staff,”
said Fuentes. “Children make up over 40-percent of our patient base and represent the future health of our community. Their services are greatly needed in the Kansas City area,” she noted.

Sangetta Jignesh Dalal was recently a resident in the Pediatrics Program at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. She completed medical school at the Baroda Medical College in India, where she also interned and performed her residency. Dr. Dalal was a fellow in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Health and Johns Hopkins University program and was a resident in Pediatrics at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Collete A. Fleming graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and then went on to complete an internship and residency in Pediatrics at Creighton University Affiliated Hospitals. She is board certified and left a private pediatrics practice in Topeka to join the staff at Rodgers Health Center. Dr. Fleming has worked in outpatient pediatrics in St. Louis, Missouri, and at a variety of Army Community Hospitals during her career.

“Each of these physicians bring a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of pediatrics to our Health Center,” said Daniel Purdom, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center. “They will insure that the highest quality medical care is provided to our youngest and most vulnerable patients. Protecting children from childhood diseases is a vital part of our mission.”

Over the years, the Health Center has received the prestigious Missouri Federally Qualified Health Center Pediatric Immunization Award for health centers exceeding the state's immunization goal of 90-percent for children from birth to 2 years of age.

Dr. Dalal replaces Padma Krishna, MD, who retired as Chief Pediatrician at the Health Center, after 30 years of service.
