Chief Executive Officer

Hilda Fuentes, CEOHilda Fuentes, MBA, joined Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center in 2005 and has implemented progressive changes aimed toward continued and future access to healthcare by the community. Ms. Fuentes has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southeastern University in Washington, D.C. and a Master of Science in Public Administration from Eastern Michigan University. Ms. Fuentes served as the deputy director and division chief for the Kansas City Health Department prior to joining the Center. She has worked as a consultant for Hospice Management Partners, as vice-president for Saint Luke’s-Shawnee Mission Health System, director of development for Cabot Westside Clinic, Kansas City, and as vice-president of Hospice Services for the Sisters of Mercy Health Care Corporation.

Chief Operating Officer

Ralph Caro, COORalph Caro, Jr., joined the Center in 2008. He has 30 years of business experience and service to the healthcare community in Kansas City. He served as chairman of the Swope Parkway Health Center Board (Kansas City) and as its Chief Operating Officer, and as President and Chief Executive Officer of Swope Health Services. He has served on the Lincoln University (MO) Board of Curators, the United Inner Cities Services (KCMO) board, and as an officer with Missouri Primary Care Association. He in an adjunct professor – graduate level at UMKC’s Bloch School of Business. Mr. Caro has a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from University of Kansas, and a Master of Business Administration from UMKC.

Chief Medical Officer

Dan Purdom, MDDr. Purdom is a family physician, practicing mainly in Adult Medicine at the Main site, and has a background in community and public health. Dr. Purdom is responsible for the medical practice for all SURHC locations. He has a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia, completed his residency in 1991 at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO, is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and is a fellow member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He serves as president of the Kansas City Academy of Family Physicians, as a board member of the Metropolitan Medical Society of Kansas City, as a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians. In addition, Dr. Purdom is an assistant professor in the Department of Community and Family Medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine.

Chief Clinical Officer

Helen Darby, CNOHelen Darby joined the Center in 2006 as the leader for clinical and nursing services to clinical programs at all sites. She has a Master of Arts in Healthcare Management and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Webster University, Kansas City. Ms. Darby served as the director of practice management, network and community care at Truman Medical Center, and was the corporate director of Health Services in the managed care division. Ms. Darby serves on the Home Health Advisory Board with John Knox Village and previously served four years on its Board of Directors.

Chief Financial Officer

Gervean Williams, CFOGervean Williams joined the Center in 2006. She has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Ms. Williams served as the chief financial officer for Shawnee Mission Physician’s Group and as manager of accounting, payroll and medical records for Saint Luke’s-Shawnee Mission Health System South. Ms. Williams is a former Rodgers’ board member and served as a member of the Diversity Council for the St. Luke’s Health System.

Chief Dental Officer

Dr. Mason DozierDr. Mason-Dozier is responsible for the Center’s four dental sites. Dr. Mason-Dozier has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Rockhurst University, Kansas City, a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and a graduate certificate for the Business of Medicine from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and School of Professional Studies in Business and Education. She is a board member for the National Network for Oral Health Access and is clinical chairperson and board member for the Oral Health Network of Missouri, serves on advisory boards and committees for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Bridgeport Dental Services and Mid-America Head Start Health Services, and is faculty at the UMKC School of Dentistry.
