Ralph C. Johnson, MS, CPA
Ralph Johnson has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting. He launched the certified public accounting firm Ralph C. Johnson & Company in 1971, and prior to that he worked with a national CPA firm for a number of years.  Mr. Johnson has worked as an Associate Professor of Business Administration at Alabama A&M University and as Assistant Professor of Accounting at Wichita State University.
Mr. Johnson has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accounting. He is a licensed CPA in Kansas City, Missouri and North Carolina. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and other state, regional and local professional organizations. Mr. Johnson has also served as chairman, advisor and as a committee member on various state and local accounting boards, including past Chair of the Kansas State Board of Accountancy.

Joseph Hiersteiner

Joseph Hiersteiner

Joseph Hiersteiner is the Managing Director and a shareholder of Seigfried, Bingham, Levy, Selzer and Gee Law Firm in Kansas City, Missouri, where he manages a general business and transactional practice with an emphasis on healthcare. Previously, he was an Executive Vice President and the General Counsel for Health Midwest, a system of 15 hospitals in the greater Kansas City area.  Mr. Hiersteiner was actively involved in the sale of Health Midwest to HCA in 2003. He was once a partner in the Bryan Cave Law Firm; preceding that, he was a partner with the firm of Smith, Gill, Fisher & Butts.

Mr. Hiersteiner is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center and attended Williams College for his undergraduate work.  He is a member of the board of the Jewish Heritage Foundation, the Menorah Legacy Foundation, and Truman Medical Centers.  He is a member of the Missouri Bar, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and the American Bar Association.


Ursula Copeland, MSW

Ursula Copeland, MSW

Ursula Copeland is an adjunct faculty member of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Social Work and also manages the Public Health Ambassadors Program for the Health Department in Kansas City, Missouri. In that role, she coordinates 200 community volunteers to work with the department to address local health issues.

Ms. Copeland completed her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas; she received her Bachelor of Science degree from Marymount College in Salina, Kansas.

Ms. Copeland is certified in family therapy and advanced mediation services. She has been a Maternal and Child Health Program Manager at the Health Department of Kansas City, Missouri, and she has coordinated a program to help individuals living with Sickle Cell Anemia. Ms. Copeland has also been involved with the management of grant funding for people living with HIV/AIDS and has a long history of working for a variety of non-profit organizations serving the needs of children, individuals with developmental disabilities and those coping with substance abuse. Ms. Copeland is a community leader and she serves as a board member and advisor for a number of professional and non-profit organizations, including the Red Cross and the Church Health Ministry Coalition.

Manuel Solano, MD

Manuel Solano, MD
Manuel Solano, MD, is serving as an Adjunct Professor for the school of Nursing at National American University and serves as the ESL instructor for Metropolitan Community College.
Dr. Solano s a native of Bogotá, Colombia, South America, where he attended medical school, specializing in psychiatric medicine. Dr. Solano has a Bachelor of Arts in Information Technology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Central Missouri and graduate studies in school administration from UMKC.

In Colombia, Dr. Solano worked in private practice and provided consulting work for a variety of organizations, including the Colombian government. He has experience as an adjunct university professor in South and North America, and he has served as a medical director in the non-profit sector. Dr. Solano has worked in an educational setting since his move to the United States.

 

Jerry F. Stolov

Jerry F. Stolov

Jerry Stolov is the President and CEO of Jerry F. Stolov & Associates Consultants in Healthcare. Mr. Stolov previously held the position of Executive Director of the Hospital Hill Services Corporation, a non-profit private medical faculty group providing faculty for the clinical teaching and academic programs of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC). Mr. Stolov was staff consultant to the Chancellor of UMKC and to the Dean of UMKC. He was also Director of the Health Systems Marketing Program for the UMKC School of Medicine and Truman Medical Centers.

Mr. Stolov has a Master of Public Administration from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois, and obtained his undergraduate degree from the Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a member of the American Association of Medical Colleges, appointed as a Designee to the Group on Faculty Practice; a lecturer at the UMKC School of Medicine; and was also a founding member of the Centurions Leadership Training Program of the Metropolitan Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.


Nhuong Tran

Nhuong Tran

Nhuong Tran was a math and Vietnamese literature teacher at the middle school level in Vietnam, before moving to the Kansas City area. She has been a Vietnamese interpreter in Kansas City for over 20 years, was the founder and remains the Executive Director of the Vietnamese American Community of Greater Kansas City, a non-profit organization. She has over 30 years of experience and expertise working for a variety of health care public assistance programs administered by the state of Missouri, including as a specialist in the Refugee Program of Missouri.

Nhuong Tran attended the University of Saigon in Vietnam, Draun's Business College in Springfield, Missouri, and completed many hours of employee training. She also completed the Midwest Non-Profit University Board Development course at the Missouri-Kansas City, and was trained as a Court Interpreter in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Mamie Currie Hughes

Mamie Currie Hughes is a community leader who serves on a variety of boards. She was a Charter Member of the Jackson County Legislature and serves on boards of the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City, Midwest Center for Holocaust Education, Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and the Historic Jazz Foundation. She serves on the advisory boards of Friendship House/Catherine's Place and others. She is a former teacher, Ombudsman for Bruce R. Watkins Roadway and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fisk University. Ms. Hughes is the widow of Samuel U. Rodgers, M.D., MPH.



Bradley Sanchez Houseton

Bradley Sanchez Houseton

Bradley Sanchez Houseton grew up in Austin, Texas and attended Texas A&M University, graduating with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Communications. She also completed a professional internship program with Pro-Mexico in Oaxaca, Mexico focusing on learning more about NGOs in developing countries.

Before moving to Kansas City in 2005, Ms. Houseton spent nearly a decade in Washington, DC as a communications and development professional working with organizations that include the Association of Research Libraries, the Society of General Internal Medicine, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Upon relocating to Kansas City, Bradley focused on niche marketing which included Hispanic advertising, animal health, cable, and telecom.

In the fall of 2008, she joined the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) to develop and grow new programs that position AAFP to work in strategic partnerships with major consumer products companies to align relevant consumer messaging, health claims, and advertising with sound, reliable health information from family physicians. In her role at AAFP, Ms. Houseton draws on a colorful pallet of professional experience in marketing, communications, program development, project management, fundraising and corporate relations.


Joe Valenciano

Joe Valenciano

Joe Valenciano is a Commercial Banking Officer specializing in middle-market commercial industrial loans, commercial real estate, Small Business Administration (SBA) financing and business development. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for El Centro, Inc., an organization serving primarily the Hispanic community to create and sustain educational, social and economic opportunities for individuals and families. Joe serves as Treasurer for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City and is a graduate of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce Leadership program. He is also active with the Knights of Columbus, National Society of Hispanic MBAs, and the University of Missouri Alumni Association. Valenciano received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a minor in Psychology from the University of Missouri and a Masters of Business Administration from William Woods University.
